Arsenal Offered Chance To Sign €50m Superstar – Will Wenger Do It?

By on April 29, 2014

Real Madrid are ready to sell long-term Arsenal target Karim Benzema in order to raise money to fund a big-money move for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, according to reports today.

Benzema has been linked with a move to the Emirates for years and we were understood to have made serious enquiries for him last summer, but Madrid decided to hang on to him after selling Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli.

Arsene Wenger has publicly admitted his admiration of the 26-year-old on several occasions and the mainstream media believe we’ll make another play for the Frenchman this summer.

It seems we could have more luck this time around with the Daily Mail claiming that Real have made it clear they are ready to sell the striker for €50m as they want to ‘upgrade’ to either Luis Suarez or Sergio Aguero.

It remains to be seen whether they’ll be able to come up with an offer tempting enough to persuade Liverpool or Man City to cash in, but if there’s a chance we can sign Benzema this summer, Wenger simply has to take it.

The former Lyon ace would be the perfect striker to spearhead our attack next season. He’s got a physical presence, his pace, has vast experience at the top level and is a superb goal-scorer. 111 goals and 62 assists in 230 games for Madrid shows just how lethal he is.

Obviously we won’t be the only team in the running for the player if he does come on the market, and the Mail suggest that Chelsea and Man Utd will also be keen in bringing him to the Premier League.

However, Chelsea seem to have their sights set on Diego Costa and United want Edinson Cavani, so we should make our move for Benzema early while they are pre-occupied with their other targets.

I pray that the newspapers have this one right and Madrid are willing to sell Benzema. While Arsene has been reluctant to splash the cash in recent years, I don’t think he’d be able to to resist paying big money for the Frenchman. I think he’d bust a gut to bring him to North London.

Imagine a strike-force of Cazorla, Ozil and Walcott behind Benzema next season!

Wenger realy messed up the season with his idiotic and stubburness in the january transfer list. Instead of reinforcing his depleted squad in january, Wenger did nothing and in my book that is unforgivable. Wenger and Wenger supporters say; you can’t get top quality in january. There might be some truth to that but Wenger could of gone for Wilfred Biney on Christian Benteke for starters. Basicaly Wenger makes things harder for his teams than they should be, due to his idiotic lack of sensible transfers.

I agree with you. I dont know why Wenger and the so called scouts cant see Wilfried Bony at Swansea ??? The guy can pack them in yaaH !! Already Poldi should be used more.

Benteke and Diamey are my other possible targets.

Wenger is to blame for Arsenal failure. Full of excuses, stubborn and indecisive. I expect the same this summer. Prove me wrong.

Yes Wenger is to blame for Arsenals woes this season but what about the team’s treasury stubbornly refusing to disburse the money required to bring change . Top players aint just gotten for peanuts . If you pay 60million for Benzema alone ; how much money of the 70million would stll be left to add substance to the team ? I insist that the powers that be must start realising how much greed for spending has cost our season year in year out . A budget of 70million is honestly not enough for a team that has over the years been under-achievers and now want to turn things around .

BIG MONEY = BIG PLAYERS = BIG TROPHY = BIG TEAM > ACHIEVEMENT .

Benzemas goals and assists ratio per game is worse than girouds.

I still believe in a 442, 352 or a 4132 he and the team would have more success. I think he just needs a world class partner and Walcott or podolski could still be that, though to have 2 inconsistent strikers would really hurt.

Perhaps considering the current form and injuries I would go for the Xmas tree formation, favoured by venables in 1996, when venables played with 2 number 10s cos he didn’t have any wingers.

Giroud, just in front of ozil and cazorla, who both like hitting the flanks as well as cutting in. With a midfield trio of Ramsey and 2 from wilshire arteta flamini chamberlain diaby kallstrom rosicky depending on the opposition and fitness.

Podolski as the back up no.9 cos sanogo has yet to prove he can score. Rosicky and chamberlain the back up no.10s

50M no way, he is a good player but not better than Costa and other so 50M is too much, perhaps 20-25 would be ok

The problem is this, wenger gets confused when the team is fully fit

He is not worth that. He is same level as Giroud and misses more than he scores. I would prefer Bony than him coz he has physical presence n has better accuracy. Bony would score 30+ at arsenal..

bonaroca: I would not like this player to join Arsenal. Wenger might be impressed, but seeing the player year in and out, it seems to me that he
the kind who is not consistent with his game.

Many supporters are keen for the club to buy big. When buying big the player should be consistent, many are inconsistant and Benzema in my humble opinion is one of them.

We need a striker yes, def. Not benzema and for christ sake wenger, why would you turn arsenal into a team building france strikers at present.. Can’t you just turn away from french player for once in your life..bony proved himself, scoring well in big matches nd lifting his team, something giroud can’t do..
