PHOTO Pathetic Arsenal ‘Fans’ Plan To Display This Banner At Wembley

By on March 26, 2014

A supposed Arsenal ‘fan’ has revealed a 28ft banner he’s had made up that he plans to display at Wembley during our FA Cup semi-final against Wigan.

The banner, which is 28ft by 8ft, is a clear protest against manager Arsene Wenger, stating ‘EIE = Enough Is Enough’ and ‘ArsenalFC NOT ArseneFC’ as well as ‘WENGER OUT’.

Now I have no problem with fans who feel it’s time for a change of management at the club, they have a strong case to suggest the time has come for Arsene to leave.

However, to do this ‘protest’ at Wembley in the semi-final of the FA Cup is nothing short of pathetic and they will not only embarrass themselves, but Arsenal Football Club if they manage to get it into the ground.

Thankfully that’s unlikely, as Arsenal will be involved in stewarding the game and the stadium has a restriction on banner sizes, but I’m in disbelief that anyone who calls themselves an Arsenal fan would think this is a good idea.

Display it at the Emirates if you have to, even outside the stadium in the streets at Wembley, but to display it in the stands at a cup semi final is a disgrace. Do these people really think this is going to be a way of getting behind the team and helping the players reach the final?

Hate on Arsene, by all means, but leave it for another day. This is our big chance to finally end our trophy drought so ALL fans should be sticking together for the good of the club.

Maybe Arsene leaving in the summer is for the long-term good of the club, who knows, but protesting against the current manager needs to be saved for another time and place…..

Mike – How clever is it to keep supporting a man who promises us a feast but only dishes up nine year old leftovers ? Haven’t you lost your appetite for that yet ?

And specialist in failure ? Tell us then, your justification for keeping him on.What has Wenger done well over the last nine years ? Notice I emphasise LAST NINE YEARS. Because we ALL agree that his first nine were memorable.

Is this the Arsenal way? Do we do it right or not? Are you proud to be a gooner and to support the traditions of the club? Are you going to let the club descend into the mire of brainless anarchy? By all means show your dissent but do it properly and don`t disgrace the club. Arsenal will still be here when we have all gone ( Arsene included . Is a banner like this what you would like to be remembered for?

Victor Thompson – We’ve already got Brainless, and anarchy can’t be far behind him if things go on like this for much longer.

At least one man has some honour and decency in him….think what you like about Mourinho, but he tells it straight and as it is. My favourite comment of his ( next to the “specialist in failure” ) is this, from August last year…..

………Mourinho said: ” I’m not the person to be in a club three or four years without winning a trophy.

“In this case I wouldn’t need the club to say “we’re not happy with you, goodbye”. I’d be the first one to say “I gave everything I could but I didn’t succeed, let’s go and try a different thing”.

Think arsenal fans are all pretty much awakening to wengers managerial style and realiseing he is not the man to take arsenal forward anymore. I think he should bow out at the end of the season before he distroys his reputation anymore. However this banner shouldnt be at wembley, maybe the emirates, or maybe another style of protest, but nothing at wembley pleaaaase

Wenger has never and will never be Arsenal’s problem, instead he is one of the finest coaches around. The injuries are just too many for comfort and at the wrong time too. True and real fans stick with their club in good and bad times. Let’s not wash our dirty leanings in the public. Please do no such thing at Wembley. Gooners 4 life!

    • Guns up

      March 26, 2014 at 5:51 pm

Mate your wrong, injury is because of overplayed players and ignoring the figures that show players are fatigue. The reason for overplaying is wenger dont trust his squad players to do a job. If he doesnt trust the squad players smhe should have brought better in the market. It’s his fault the squad is so small and full off injurys. Every year it is us who have the most injurys, fact. This is no coincedence, bad all wrong management.

You seem a little more concerned about getting rid of Wenger than you do about supporting the team and helping in any little way you can to a final. There is a time and a place for your protests but at this time when we are close to possibly winning something is idiotic.
To be honest, doing this at the semi-final of the FA cup makes the point being made look stupid and will not have the desired affect.

Absolutely the banner should be shown at Wembley. Those remaining die hard A.K.B. idiots who still revere him to the point of cult hero worship, need to realise that an ever increasing number of their ranks are turning against Wenger. Even some of them who have believed in him for years are finally waking up to the fact that he’s a fraud, The Great Pretender.

But back to the banner. Do you honestly think that the players will be distracted enough by it for it to affect their game ? Hardly. If they’re focused properly* ( *Wenger’s job – don’t laugh,I’m serious ) then they’ll be too preoccupied with trying to get a result, rather than on what’s happening in the stands.I’m sure the players are not such delicate flowers that they can’t handle justifiable criticism ( unlike the A.K.B.’s ).

In fact, I’m also pretty sure that quite a few of our players are just as frustrated and bewildered and evidently demoralised, as we fans are, over Wenger’s joke “tactics” and man-management.Though of course they can never come out in public and say what they really think, or they’d be disciplined by the club and maybe sacked.Of course, the irony is that the one who SHOULD BE SACKED, is still here, and wanting even MORE time to bash his ( and our ) heads against a brick wall.

What is the purpose of the banner? Will it make us win the FA cup? The chants of Wenger out are a healthy sign of expression by fans but they are not enough. I would expect people to go further than that instead of a vendetta against a man who has done so much for the club. The emphasis should be on who replaces Wenger because that is the one who will determine the direction of the club. Vindictiveness against Wenger will not help the club. I wish those calling for Wenger’s head could go further and propose who replaces Wenger, what methods can revitalise the club, which players should be brought in and which ones should be purged and how the Board can be held accountable. This is more useful than just mere hatred for Wenger without providing a viable alternative and solutions. Tomorrow Wenger will be at PSG winning trophies while Arsenal will even be oput of the top four if our so-called fans just concentrate on peripheral issues instead of fundamental ones like how to rebuild the team and which manager is best suited to do that.

    • Spectrum

      March 27, 2014 at 1:21 pm

“Vindictiveness against Wenger will not help the club”.

But it just might. If enough of us realists who CARE enough about the club’s future and its direction going forward – protest hard and loud enough, the board will finally get the message that we’re SERIOUS, and give him the opportunity to either step down voluntarily, or be pushed out the door. It’s happened before at other clubs, and it can happen here too.Gazidis himself stated that “Only the fans themselves can remove Wenger.”

However we have a unique situation at Arsenal. The board and the sheep followers who still believe Wenger is the man he was pre-2005, have allowed themselves to be hypnotised by the mystique surrounding him. This is what so far has handicapped change from occurring. But as Wenger provides ever more rope in which to proverbially hang himself, the tide of change will be irresistable. It’s already underway, thank God !

First thing first, davidrusa. You’re getting ahead of yourself. According to news reports the board is ( belatedly ) searching for candidates to fill the manager’s role in the event that our Mr.McGoo doesn’t sign on again. It’s their job to select the right person, not ours.

But things they absolutely MUST NOT DO is 1) allow Wenger to choose his own successor ( we don’t want a clone of him ). and 2) not to allow him to move upstairs into a senior role at the club.Where he can interfere and influence the affairs of the team from behind the scenes.

It seems to me that you’re another one who’s afraid of change, a typical A.K.B. trait.”Who would you get to replace him?” – implying that there is no-one out there in the whole world that can’t do a competent job for us. Not guarantee success ( nobody can guarantee anything ), but at least get us genuinely competitive and not merely pretending to be.There are loads of younger, talented managers out there who can fill the role and if nothing else, bring long overdue HOPE of better times. We sure as hell won’t get them under the incumbent.

F.A. Cup win or not, his time is up.

Jurgen klopp! He’s a nice manager! He’s Good in signing Good and unknown players.

So let’s get the old MR BEAN outta our club. I wish we made this correction earlier with Guadiola b4 he went to Bayern munich. Who know how many trophies will be added to our museum.

And I feel klopp will like to change league now that bayern is invisible in Bundesliga. He can also bring their players along, Goundogan, mikhitayan, aubameyang, pszezck (sagna replacement). And he also know bundesliga good players, bcos I want dis french mediocre to stop coming to arsenal.

Right now, I feel we don’t qualify for Champions league, and europa league, let’s play EPL with our small team, so dat dey won’t get fatigue. That’s what made LIVERPOOL different this season.

Also Liverpool attack made average players like coutinho, and sterling 2 be like world class, SLUGGSISH Giroud can’t bring the outta ozil and carzola.

Wenger earn more dan many coaches, and won’t buy star players or play the ones he has well.

Oooh! I wonder how this season would av been with RVP upfront, ozil and santi behind him. Song in DM.

Suarez would given us the league by now.

Very simple, this flag will never get in the Emirates because the ground is sanitised and stewards would not allow any dissenting banners or flags. Wembley is the perfect time to do this. You can still be behind the team just not behind the manager.

By the way it is not pathetic and those saying he is not an Arsenal fan or should be elsewhere, looking on the date of that flag it would seem he has been going a lot longer than some of you. Yes we have traditions and dont air our laundry in public but the times have change and people should not be silenced on their views.

I would rather be made a mockery for supporting that flag than for being embarrassed week in week out now as I have done for years by Wengers inept tactics, inept transfer dealings and lack of and the embarrassing losses that are making us a laughing stock.

He’s a specialist in failure as Mourinho said, it’s time to move on. Fact is, the board fully support Wenger, some lame banner isn’t going to change their minds. All it’s going to achieve is a couple of headlines in the Daily Star and Sky commentators jerking themselves into a frenzy. Oh and help to create a negative atmosphere when all the focus should be on the game.

All the AKB brigade who are happy to see AFC fall further in to decline under Wenger. Who would we get to replace him you argue. Jurgen Klopp for one. A great tactician who knows how to get the best out of his players. Frank De Boer is another. Look at what he is doing at Ajax. The question is would they come to Arsenal? My thoughts are no. Arsenal is a cash cow. Kroenke and Gazidis have no interest in the football side of the club. They syphon money out of the club and Wenger supports them in this. Arsenal is a huge business that makes huge profits. Where does all the profit go? It’s not reinvested back into the team.
Would a manager want to go to work for a club that tells him your job is not to take the team forward but it’s to keep the profit rolling in so Kroenke can buy another huge plot of land in the USA.
Kroenke and Gazidis like Wenger because he goes along with them syphoning money away from the club and gets paid well for doing it. Thats why they will not get rid of him.
As for the banner. It is not needed at an FA Cup semi final. If fans want to put the point across that they are not happy with the way the club is being run there is one very simple way of doing it that Kroenke, the board and the media can’t ignore. That’s the fans not going to home games.
I’m not talking about staying away completely. I mean not paying to enter the stadium. Stand outside the stadium singing the players names. It’s not the players fault this is happening. Let them know we are behind them and Arsenal FC. This will hit Kroenke and Gazidis where it hurts them the most. It will be like 50,000 fans lining up each match day to kick them in the nuts and steal their wallets.
With the money they lose from match day ticket revenue will be a gigantic blow to them. They will have no choice but to address the fans concerns. The media will hound them to the point where they have nowhere to hide.
We need David Dein back at Arsenal. He will get the ship floating again.
