TEAM: My Preferred Starting XI To Take On Everton – Giroud Starts
Arsenal take on Everton at the Emirates on Saturday lunchtime in the quarter finals of the FA Cup, here’s my preferred starting eleven for the game.
Goalkeeper: Lukasz Fabianski has started in the previous rounds and performed well, so there is no reason for Arsene not to stick with him this weekend.
Defence: Laurent Koscielny sat out France’s friendly last night after feeling a tight hamstring in training but he’s expected to be OK to play on Saturday. For me, this is more important than the Bayern game on Tuesday so I hope we play a near full-strength team. That means Bacary Sagna, Per Mertesacker and Kos all need to start along with Gibbs assuming Nacho Monreal’s still out.
Midfield: The international curse has hit us once again with the news that Jack Wilshere is out for six weeks with a fractured foot suffered while playing for England last night. This leaves a whole in midfield and while it’s likely the boss will go with the Flamini-Arteta combo, I’d prefer to see Rosicky start in the middle.
The Czech international works harder than anyone and could do an excellent job of the box-to-box role alongside Flamini. That would leave the right wing free for The Ox to start, while Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla should take up the other places in attack.
Striker: I wouldn’t be surprised if Wenger opts to give Sanogo a run out this weekend but I’d prefer to see Giroud start up front. We need to win this and it makes sense to go with the more experience man.
So here’s the team I’d go with:
Let’s play our best side, get past Everton, hope for a kinder draw in the semi’s and no doubt we’ll have to beat Man City in the final to lift the FA Cup! Sounds easy doesn’t it…..
What do you think of my team? What side would you go with?

Fabianski, might be saved for the munich game,
As szczesny is banned.
I don’t think wenger will risk koscielny,
so vermaelen could step in.
I would like to see the Ox being played as a striker,
Giving Ozil someone to aim for and podolski on the wing, with giroud relegated to the bench.

I am sure that Wilshere will be fit and raring to go for the World Cup – Does nothing for Arsenal mind you but you can rest assured he will be fit for Brazil !

In fact, I don’t actually see what Wilshere brings to Arsenal – He is not defensive enough to be a defensive midfielder and creates too few chances to be an effective attacking midfielder….

Rest Giroud and play Poldoski up front. U can also use Viviano n rest Fabby for Munich since Scezny is on red. Pls dont gamble with vermelin for kos. tnx
