“We Have Received An Offer For Our Player From Arsenal”

By on February 24, 2014

Schalke’s sporting director, Horst Heldt, has confirmed Arsenal made a bid for Julian Draxler but is fell short of their valuation.

As we all know by now, Draxler was the big transfer story during the January window with widespread reports claiming we were deep in negotiations to try and sign the 20-year-old and at one point it seemed like a deal could be done.

However, we failed to agree a fee and ended up signing 31-year-old Kim Kallstrom on loan from Spartak Moscow while Draxler remained at Schalke.

Arsene Wenger has previously insisted that his supposed interest in the German international was nothing more than an ‘illusion’ created by the newspapers, but Schalke appear to have a very different take on things.

Sporting director Horst Heldt has confirmed that Arsenal have made a formal offer for Draxler but it didn’t meet their valuation.

“We have received an offer for our player from Arsenal, but it was not enough,” [source: Spanish newspaper AS]

The way this quote is worded it sounds like we’ve made this bid recently, as opposed to the past tense in January, but I think it might just be the way it’s been translated and Heldt does mean we made the offer last month. It would be very odd for us to be making bids in February.

Either way, it once again confirms our interest in Draxler. His buy-out clause is set at £37m and apparently they were willing to sell at that price in January despite the release clause only being valid in the summer, but Wenger refused to pay that amount.

Whether he’s going to be prepared to do so at the end of the season remains to be seen but unfortunately I think we’re going to face some serious competition this time around, so I just hope we haven’t missed our chance to sign him.

We can’t even get him again, maybe in the next three years wenger will come out and star telling us how he was suppose to have signed him. That’s how he normally do. Ronaldo, ibra, matta, hazard, messi, J. Navas, Suares, Remy, Jackson, Jageika, Kahil, Ba, and so many more, wenger should be replaced, he has lost his real senses.

Am so tired of Arsene wenger indecision at crucial moment, and his indeciusion in signing a big top striker despite his weak argument will hunt him if he fails to win this year premiership title.michu, loic remy or cavani would have crown his 8yrs trophyless season.Arsenal is not all about making profit alone but making all those patient gunners happy for enduring those painful dry period.

Arsene wenger needs to be speculated about is decision making in signings though his an experience coach and yet deserves a koodoos but Now we need more than that we have being trophyless for the past eight years, and we have being mocked for that I think is high time he needs to think about the fans, one thing that I know,if can’t be a man of glory then you will be a man of balance which I say ferguson is a man of glory while moyes is a man of balance.arsene where do you belong.

I think the story of Draxler has gone too far, the media always try to find out what is happening by creating stories which do not exist. The way I see it they want to know who Arsenal is going to buy, but Arsenal always does the right thing, by announcing after the deal has been completed. It is very embrassing for theme the media, so they keep on trying to know inside information from the Germany side because with Arsene Wenger, they know he will not disclose anything inside the club until everything has been finalized.

Old story…tired of hearing or reading about transfer targets because it only reminds me of the players that has being reportedly being an arsenal transfer target that was missed. So can’t say where the problem comes from-board, media, coach, arsenalfc as a club, etc.

I think its high time somebody else handles our player transfers other the old man himself. I think he’s lost touch with reality. Let’s get a Director of Football to handle our transfers
