German Striker ‘Upset’ As Arsenal Move Falls Through

By on January 31, 2014

The transfer window has closed and unfortunately it looks like Arsenal have failed to bring in a striker.

We were linked with a number of front-men throughout the month but with no new addition signed by the morning of deadline day, the search was on to make a last minute buy.

The big name being touted around the wires on Friday was German hitman Miroslav Klose with widespread reports suggesting Lazio rejected our offer of £2m to take him on loan until the end of the season.

Reports tonight suggest that Klose told the clubs hierarchy that he was keen on the move and was left deeply ‘deeply upset’ after seeing his proposed switch to the Emirates fall through.

The Metro claim the prolific striker wanted to come to the Premier League as he thought it would boost his chances of making the Germany squad for this summer World Cup and he had apparently already spoken to our German contingent – Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski – about life at the club, however Lazio refused to do business.

It’s a real shame we couldn’t pull this one off as Klose would certainly have added to our goal threat up front during the second half of the season. He’s one of the deadliest finishers around and would have been a real alternative to Olivier Giroud, but it wasn’t to be.

Now we have to go through till the end of the season relying on Giroud, Bendtner, Sanogo and Podolski. Whether that will be good enough to land us some silverware remains to be seen.

How disappointed are you that we didn’t sign a striker? Let me know your thoughts…

Wenger is a failure and reason behind arsenal failure for the past years, such a greedy business man.

Still he could have bought a good strikers. fulham got the Greek striker Why was he not considered . Really if Giroud gets injured I think our chances of winning any trophy will be not even less. . I was looking fowar for draxler to come. Will we get him in summer? Hmmm… Don’t know. Anyways I will support all arsenal what may come. Just believe we can do it. Puma should sign messi as one of their brand ambassadors and finance a arsenal to get messi

Another amateurish display from the men guiding Arsenal. I can understand that Draxler was overpriced (the same price as Mata!)but he was one for the future he would have had no effect on the run in anyway. It is getting hard, what with the cost of seat etc, to resist the conclusion that the club is now being run to line the pockets of the management/owners. A bit like a small British government. Disappointed.

Live by the sword then die by the sword. Whatever happens to arsenal this season appears to be down to the manager from here.

He will either be a hero or chastised. I am a supporter so I will save judgement until mid May. But there will be fans who will want to let him know their feelings on Sunday and then everyone we dnot win, that is my fear.

Wenger is really a very oldish manager of this centuary. He is not flexible enouph. If he is not able to bring in good strikers, he never be angry while the club conceded goals or beaten. He had better watch simply.

If anyone thinks Manchester City are a lucky team, must be from dream land. They trashed Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal. I do not need to mention other resounding victories so far this season. Their success, apart from being financially loaded, they assembled a good squard, good enough to beat anyone in the league if not world. They do not relay on one central striker like Arsenal. To be honest Arsenal rode their luck on a number of wins this year until their luck ran out at Southampton. I can mention how lucky we were against Stoke and Westbrom where we were outplayed for the entire matches. We were also lucky to win in Germany against Dotmund. You can not win the league on luck alone unfortunately. A striker was a priority for us. You can not claim you have alternative strikers if you can not trust they can changed the game if your first choice is not able to. Let’s get real. How on earth do you expect to have a good transfer deal when you always do things the last minute?

The solution to Arsenal woes lies within : Give players like Zelalem , Ox , Gnabbry more playing time , these ll be more committed , will defend and attack better than spent and overrated stars from Spain , Italy and Germany.
