Man City Linked With Shock Swoop For ‘Deeply Upset’ Arsenal Ace

By on January 27, 2014

Could Bacary Sagna become the fifth Arsenal player to join Manchester City in recent years? Well the Daily Star are reporting today that the Citizens are ready to offer the Frenchman a big-money deal to make the switch the Etihad this summer.

Sagna’s current contract at Arsenal expires at the end of the season and despite Arsene Wenger saying that the club are working ‘extremely hard’ at trying to secure his future, there has been no breakthrough in talks over an extension.

The latest reports suggest we’ve even upped our £80k a week offer from a two-year deal to a three-year deal, which is more than reasonable for a player who is 30.

However, with the likes of Monaco, PSG and Galatasaray understood to be willing to pay £120k a week NET for four years as well as a sizeable signing on bonus, then it’s easy to see why the right-back is still mulling over his options, and now the Star suggest that Man City are ready to try and land Sagna having twice previously failed with bids to lure him north.

Sagna has been on the same wage since 2008 and the newspaper suggests he is ‘deeply upset’ at how his loyalty hasn’t been rewarded over the years. You couldn’t really blame him for feeling that way as he’s never kicked up a fuss during our trophyless years and he’s had the chance to follow the likes of Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri (to name a few) out the door, but turned down big-money moves to remain with Arsenal.

I’m still hopeful Wenger can persuade him to commit his future to the club but if he does decide to leave, I pray he moves back to France and not join Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure in joining City.

Bakary Sagna has my sympathy for the ugly treatment he go from arsenal board. He deserves expressing his bitterness even more than this, and by the way who would not, particularly after committing so much to a team that has won nothing for about a decade. I love Sagna and will hate seeing him leave arsenal. I pray he extends his contract with the GUNNERS. UP SAGNA,UP ROSICKX, UP GUNNERS,UP ARSENAL.

isn’t la Sangna a right back ? Ask yourselves (apart from the fact that this cr4p was in the daily star) would man city offer big money to a 30 year old who will be second or even third choice right back ? Would he move to a club where he has NO chance of being first choice at his age ? Quite clear this is a complete ‘non-story’ designed to stir up some of the more gullible gooners out there.
