BREAKING: Theo Walcott Ruled Out For 6 MONTHS!

By on January 6, 2014

Arsenal have just confirmed the worst possible news. Theo Walcott has been ruled out for at least 6 months after sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Saturday.

The winger was stretchered off against Tottenham in the dying minutes after appearing to jar his knee while chasing down a loose ball.

The initial diagnosis was that he mat have stretched the ligament and would miss up to a month.

However, it appears the injury was far worse than anyone had anticipated and the club have just released the following statement on Arsenal.com:

“After coming off injured in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the Club regrettably announces that Theo Walcott has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.

Theo will have surgery in London in the near future and is expected to be out for at least six months, therefore missing the remainder of the season and the World Cup in Brazil in the summer.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Theo a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on a football pitch as soon as possible.”

This is a devastating blow to our hopes of lifting silverware this season and it seems our bad luck with injuries is never going to end. Theo has been in excellent form since recovering from a stomach injury earlier in the season and he is a vital part of our attacking force.

Thankfully, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back in full training and Serge Gnabry looks like he’s ready to make the step up, but neither are at Walcott’s level yet and his loss is going to be a huge blow.

The pressure will now be on Arsene Wenger to bring in a replacement that can help us maintain our title push during the second half of the season. Which isn’t going to be easy to find in January.

How big a loss is Theo? Who would you like to see come in.

How could one be over a player’s injury? Theo has many more years to play. He can be more than Henry if things go well for him. Henry never experienced the injury problems Theo has been going through.

A big loss for Arsenal and England. He’ll come back stronger and his fans around the world wish him speedy recovery and we are also wishing for him to remain strong mentally. What a disgrace for the Spurs fans who laugh at his injury. They pelted him with coins but he responded smilingly with 2 – 0 gesture as a friendly banter.
I can’t believe and am utterly shocked at football fans who can stoop so low as to laugh at his misfortune. Where is the culture of empathy in the english soceity now? He’s just a professional football player who happens to play for a club that you probably don’t support BUT it’s not as if he is a scum bag of the soceity.

It’s now down to Wenger to go out and look for players that can improve the team, Pato for 12mil, a right back and Diego Costa will do the magic for us. Wish Theo a quick recovery.

I am crying right now, his speed, his tricks, his attempt on goal are world class. For all matches he started ths season more than 70% of arsenal attempts on goals came from him, his goal scored were world class, his misses were beauty and exciting to watch. Walcot needed a more playing time before he starts scoring as he want, he reminds me of Luis suarez two seasons back when he missed alot of scoring chances and now he become a prolific goal scorer. But i am not sure if walcot will come back once again with the same confidence. Very unfortunate for arsenal and for me, now wenger must do all he can and sign Mario Baloteli if he is serious with trophies this season. Giroud is not a striker who can trouble good difenders, he can not run with the ball, he only depends on his physical presence to hold the ball and play one two but that is not enough for a striker of arsenal level, that is why he is strugling against big team like man u, man citi, chelsea and even liverpool. He can only score when the whole team play well even though what he score is a negligible fraction of what he misses. Plse wenger buy baloteli, forget about coments from incompitent fans who think Giroud is good enough and those who looks of players with good behaviour, behaviour alone can not win you a troph. It’s a shame someone is rejoicing over another’s misfortune, what a world we live in. It’s now down to Wenger to go out and look for players that can improve the team, Pato for 12mil, a right back and Diego Costa will do the magic for us. Wish Theo a quick recovery. He’ll come back stronger that’s my belief.

I wish Walcott the quickest recovery and i believe he will come back even stronger and better. Mean while……
Jackson Martinez to Arsenal, please. Please check out his skills and goals, he is very strong, very quick, got fantastic dribbling skills, very hungry for goals… He is super quality, more so, he is an Arsenal fan. Mr Wenger, no need to look any further, i strongly believe this guy ticks all boxes for us, on a long and and short term fix.
