My Preferred Arsenal Team To Play Hull City – Flamini & Walcott To Return?
The games are coming thick and fast and up next is Hull City who come to the Emirates on Wednesday night.
Another win would see us at least maintain our four point advantage over Chelsea but of course we’d hope our rivals slip up so we can widen the gap further.
Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier today at his press conference that Bacary Sagna has been ruled out of the game after picking up a hamstring strain against Cardiff on Saturday. It means that Carl Jenkinson will step in and he should be capable of doing a job at home against the Tigers.
I’d expect Nacho Monreal to be given another chance to impress at left-back with Kieran Gibbs being given a well-earned rest. There is talk that Wenger was also considering resting Per Mertesacker until he lost Sagna, so to prevent too much change at the back, it looks like Vermaelen will have to continue to wait for his chance.
In midfield I’d expect Mathieu Flamini to return alongside Mikel Arteta with Jack Wilshere being given a breather having started a lot of games recently.
Attack could get an overhaul with Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla rested ahead of games against Everton, Man City and Chelsea. This would see Theo Walcott start his first game in over two months, while Tomas Rosicky could also get a start and Aaron Ramsey may be deployed further up the pitch.
Olivier Giroud will have to once again lead the line as our only other viable option is to play Bendtner, which should only be regarded as a last resort!
Here’s the team I’d like to see start:
