Arsenal Keen On WBA Wonderkid Who Slayed Man Utd

According to reports today, Arsenal want to sign West Bromwich Albion wonderkid Saido Berahino.

The 20-year-old has shot to prominence this season with a string of impressive display’s for the Baggies and became an instant hero at the Hawthorns after scoring a fine winner against champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Arsenal found out about his ability first hand last week when he grabbed the equaliser with a close range header – which was his fourth goal in the Capital One Cup this season after scoring a hat-trick in the second round – while he’s also got two in two for the England Under-21’s.

Understandably, he’s now attracting interest from the Premier League ‘big-guns’ and Arsenal are believed to be leading the chase.

Berahino’s currently earning just £850-per-week and with his contract set to expire at the end of this season, Arsene Wenger is looking to pick himself up a bargain.

The Mail newspaper claims that we could snap him up for just £300,000 in compensation if he refuses to sign a new deal with West Brom, but Everton boss Roberto Martinez is also understood to be keen on the youngster and will send scouts to watch him against us this Sunday.

With the vultures circling, it’s no surprise that Steve Clarke is working frantically to draw up a lucrative new package for the Burundi-born attacker to try and tie down his long-term future, but it remains to be seen whether the player will be able to resist a move to the likes of Arsenal.

    It be good for wenger to do wat will help him nd arsenal to regain there lost glory.2005 still remains fresh in our mind we de arsenal fans.

    I would like us to sign him moreso that he is English (though Burundi by roots). He will add up to the English contigents at the Emirates. And again, we will sign him on the cheap. It’s going to be a win-win situation.

    I remember one player did this “killing giants stuff” and then that one goal change his life forever. It was young Rooney scored to beat us againts Everton. Will that happen again with Berahino? I’m not quite convinced.
