Wenger: Ramsey & Flamini Slight Doubts For Swansea Game

Arsenal travel to Wales to take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday night and it seems Mathieu Flamini and Aaron Ramsey are slight doubts for the game.

Arsene Wenger held his pre-match press conference this morning where he revealed that Flamini is suffering from a shoulder problem and Ramsey is due to be assessed after picking up a reported thigh strain.

Flamini was due to start against West Brom in midweek but was pulled out shortly before kick-off with a minor shoulder injury. He didn’t come off the bench either which suggests the boss was protecting him for this weekend.

Ramsey’s injury is a little more curious and I read rumours during the week that he had picked up a thigh strain in training. It can’t be too serious as Wenger confirmed he’s facing a late fitness test and he’s optimistic that both the Welshman and Flamini will be passed fit.

It seems our bad luck with injuries is never going to end. These might be minor problems and both Flamini and Ramsey will most likely play this weekend, but the fact they have both picked up knocks with seven players already on the treatment table is just ridiculous.

It would obviously be a huge blow if either one of the midfielders were to miss the trip to Wales. Our squad is already stretched to it’s limit and I’m not how we’ll cope if one, never mind both, are ruled out.

Mikel Arteta is the obvious answer but I’m not sure he would be up to playing another game so soon after playing 95 minutes against West Brom on his first start of the season. He was withdrawn in extra time after suffering cramp but we may have no other choice but to start him if Rambo or the Flamster are out.

    The fact that you will even suggest the medical team is to blame for injuries, shows how ignorant you are about medical issues! Sheesh.
