Champions League Draw: Arsenal Handed ‘Group Of Death’

By on August 29, 2013

The draw for the group stages of this years Champions League was drawn this afternoon and we’ve been handed a ‘group of death’.

We were first out the hat and drawn in group F and were soon joined by Marseille, with the French outfit arguably the easiest of all the pot 2 teams we could have drawn. Great start.

However, things quickly went downhill as we were drawn against last years finalists Borussia Dortmund from pot three and Napoli from pot4 – who were the two hardest teams we could have got.

Group F:

Arsenal, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli

So it’s going to be a tough ask to get out of this group, that’s for sure. There were teams in pot 4 who have got easier draws!

But this is the hand we’ve been dealt. Marseille will surely be the ‘whipping boys’ and it says a lot considering they were in pot 2.

What do you make of the draw? Will we make it out?

Napoli likely to win the group, then it’s a 3 way race for second spot. This is not the group of death though….Celtic have that !

We will scale through. This does not remove the fact that we need reinforcements.

Shut your thumbs if you don’t know what the group of death means, how can someone tell me.. Celtic, barca, ajax and ac milan is the group of death compared to arsenal, dortmund, marseil, napoli? All 4 in arsenals group are more than capable of beating ajax, milan and celtic, arsenal, dortmund, napoli are also capable of beating barcelona although i doubt merseil in this case so mind what you call the group of death and how can you say napoli will probably win the group then its a 3way race for arsenal, dortmund and merseil? Do you watch football at all?. As an arsenal fan i can tell you that i was happy with our group, if we you want to win the UCL you must be prepared to beat the very best so its no problem starting from the group stage and this would also test our squad and i also pray it sparks wenger into signing top top players because this time there is no hiding place for wenger, he cant just say i qualified from the group stages for the 16th year in a row this time the quality of our squad will do the talking so its up to him to sign the required players. One thing i can proudly say is that we are more than capable of beating anybody in our group so that ain’t the problem.
