Wenger Agrees To Sign Moroccan Midfielder?

By on August 8, 2013

We may have just sealed our second ‘major’ signing of the summer with rumours spreading that Arsene Wenger has agreed to sign Alharbi El Jadeyaoui after he impressed on a two-day trial this week.

The Moroccan midfielder arrived on Tuesday from French second division outfit Angers to begin his two-day trial after the 27-year-old supposedly caught the bosses eye with some fine displays last season.

Now, several Arsenal fans are ‘reporting’ on Twitter that the boss has offered to sign the attacker on a permanent basis. Here’s a couple of tweets that have got people talking on the social networking site this afternoon:

I’m not in a position to verify this information and it’s not known what type of fee, if any, will be involved but he’s certainly not going to be one of the big-money signings we’ve been waiting for this summer. In fact, if the speculation is true, this ‘signing’ is probably going to infuriate Arsenal fans even further.

Signing another player on a free, or for a nominal transfer fee, is basically taking the piss considering we’ve got upward of £70m sitting in the bank waiting to be spent. Not to mention all the promises of going after top talent and targetting the world’s best this summer.

For those of you who care, El Jadeyaoui is a left-footed attacker who can play anywhere across the midfield, and after representing France at Under-21 level he chose to represent Morocco at senior international level.

Certainly an underwhelming addition and one that will most likely have little or no impact on the first team next season. A squad player at best. But lets wait and see if this becomes official before getting the pitch-forks out for Wenger, shall we.

The fact you think we can get Benzema shows how little you know. Why would Madrid sell Higuain and Benzema in the same summer. Stop believing everything you read, 99.9% of it is bollox.

look after selling releasing and loaning out circa 30 players so far, of course we need some cheap or free squad players especially if our 2 main targets eat up our whole budget. why spend 10-15m on squad players when you can get them for free, at least wenger has learnt that lesson. now he wants world class starting x1 players and free/bargain squad players
