REPORT: Arsenal Agree €7m Deal To Sign German Defender

By on August 4, 2013

Some interesting news this morning with the Sun claiming Arsenal have reached an agreement with Freiburg to sign versatile defender Matthias Ginter.

You’ll have to buy the actual Sun newspaper or pay £1 per month for access to the online version to verify the story, but personally I’m refusing to pay to read newspapers online so I went old-school and bought the paper version when I went to the local shop this morning.

Ginter was linked with a move to the Emirates back in June and we’ve since loaned Frieburg midfielder Francis Coquelin, so perhaps Arsenal took the opportunity to enquire about the 19-year-old during negotiations.

The Sun now claim we’ve struck €7m (£6.1m) deal that will see the German under-21 international make the move to north London this summer.

Obviously the Sun aren’t the most reliable of newspapers but this move would make sense given the current need for reinforcements at the back. With three experienced central defenders (Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Koscielny) already on the books, bringing in a talented youngster would be a good move as he could learn the ropes while also providing much-needed depth in an important position.

Ginter is also capable of playing in the defensive midfield position so I’m sure his versatility appeals to Wenger as the holding role is also an area that needs strengthened.

Let’s see if this one comes to fruition. We’ve got less than a month left of the window and going into the season with just two fit centre-backs so if we’re going to do the deal, let’s do it quickly!

Do you like the sound of Ginter? Who would you like Wenger to sign?

Someone help me please. Does he go straight to first team and is he capable of handling challenges from the likes of Manchesters and other big premier league clubs and UEFA Champion league?

Surely we already have Ignasi Miquel as a talented youngster who can cover that position? We need a decent DM such as Fellani, Gastavo or Sven or Lars Bender, as well as a top quality striker(Suarez or Lewandowski?). If we were to get another CB surely we want one ready for the first team right now! Ashley Williams?

The facts are we had the second best defence in the Premiership last season.
Our poor defence is mesia crap and so called fans are falling for it.
how many other clubs can boast quality like Vermalen and Miguel as stand bys?
A possible good buy for the future to learn and develop.

Arsene Wenger is a very respected man in football and certainly not an “imbecile” look no further than a mirror.

This summer (like others before), a bizarre there is an unsolvable equation at he Emirates. Ivan Gazidis (the Dick-Head)+ Arsene Wenger (The Imbecile) = No Recognisable Player Arrivals at the Arsenal!!

Wenger, quit from †ђξ gunner, ʊ̜̍ re not a succes and can never Βε̲̣̣̣̥ a success @ arsenal anymore, your stingyness would offer arsenal any thing but †̥ keep deteriorating, your idea σ̲̅f̲̮̲̅͡ tip-tap has been outdated and †ђξ best ʊ̜̍ can ever get with it even outside †ђξ premiership ( Βε̲̣̣̣̥ it la liga, serie a, or any other league) ¶§ †̥ Βε̲̣̣̣̥ among †ђξ top 4, your idea σ̲̅f̲̮̲̅͡ football can only Βε̲̣̣̣̥ †ђξ best if and only if Y̶̲̥̅̊o̶̲̥̅̊и̣̣! I believe we are going to sign a GK, DM and a Striker before the window closes. Wenger doesn’t make noises before completing deals! Remember the cases of Carzola, Poldoski, et al ? Plus the fact that many players have been released freeing up money that would be spent on good, active players, and again the likes of Giroud, Arteta and Wilshere have talked up new signings……….most definitely, they have some knowledge of what Le Prof is up to. So Gunners fans, I would say……..relax and watch.

You people are deluded, what is wrong with you? Just because Wenger refuses to pay 55mil for players you are calling for him to leave. Dickheads! Lets be Real Madrid and consider blowing 100mil on Bale,or Monaco or Barca, City or Chelsea, all of who make a mockery of FFP . At Arsenal we don’t by superstars, we create them. The difference now is that we can afford to keep them and this is because Wenger does not get ripped off with over inflated prices. If that is not good enough for you you can follow a sugar daddy team, piss off. Especially the imbecile that suggested we by Barry.Give me your address so I can buy you a trophy so you can stick it up you ignorant arse.Tosser.
