Fabregas Has No Intention Of Joining ‘Obsessed’ Man Utd Despite ‘Daily’ Calls

By on July 30, 2013

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has no intention of joining Manchester United this summer and has made his feelings clear to the club on several occasions.

United have been public with their interest in the former Arsenal captain in recent weeks and David Moyes has admitted they’ve already had two bids turned down and are considering tabling an improved third offer.

But they will be wasting their time according to Spanish publication Sport, as they claim Cesc has never had any intention of moving to Old Trafford and has told the Premier League champions on several occasions he’s fully-focussed on fulfilling his ambitions at Barcelona.

I’ve stated throughout the summer that United’s pursuit of Fabregas is ridiculous and it seems that’s turning out to be the case. Sport suggest United have an “unhealthy obsession” in trying to sign Cesc and have called his agent Darren Dein on a daily basis to try and persuade them to hold talks over a potential move – something Fabregas has refused to do.

They also suggest that United have been leaking false information to the British media to try and unsettle Fabregas and make it seem like Barcelona were interested in doing a deal and that the player was open to a move.  This is why Barcelona came out last week and publicly insisted that Fabregas isn’t for sale and even wrote to United to tell them so, while Cesc is understood to have met with new boss Tata Martino on Monday and made it clear there was never any truth behind the United reports.

I’m still reading rumours today claiming Moyes will go back with a third bid but it’s all for show. They know they won’t sign him. They just want to appear ambitious to try and appease disgruntled fans who’re worried about the clubs future now Fergie has gone. The same goes for their supposed interest in Bale. No chance. It’s Madrid or nowhere for him.

It’s all rather embarrassing really isn’t it? At no point did I ever buy into the whole ‘Fabregas-to-United’ rumour as I knew it was a non-starter from the start. If, and it’s a big IF, Fabregas wanted out of Barcelona he would come back to Arsenal. He’s said that many times before, we have a very tight buy-back clause and Wenger confirmed we’d be interested if Fabregas wanted a move, so there was never any chance he would go to Old Trafford.

But it’s still been funny watching them ‘try’…..

Not as funny as watching Arsenal fail in every attempt to win a trophy. Small club

…thing is Everton actually are a small club.
Arsenal have no justifiable reason to be going such a long time without silverware

          But they’re not, not really.
Only a small club to people bor after 1980’s.

Ok let me rephrase that. They are a small club in MODERN football. They have finished in the top 4 once in the last 21 years (since the premier league was founded) and their average finishing position is below mid table.

What’s the matter you having trouble dealing with the rejection??Fabregas would never play for Utd, he can’t stand them that’s why he threw Rodney shirt on the ground..Also Fabregas called Moyes “Class less” a few seasons ago when Moyes accused Fabregas of accusing Everton, of bribing the ref and linesmen, at a match at the Emirates stadium . Fabregas has said on several occasions as did Wenger at the time, that Moyes was out of order to make such a unsubstantiated claim about the then Arsenal captain.

Didn’t you go 26 years without a league title once….short memory

        July 30, 2013 at 1:01 pm

But Arsenal are the 4th most valuable football team in the world. to go 8 years without as much as a carling cup, is pathetic.
Man Utd did not have the resources in that era.

          July 30, 2013 at 1:17 pm

Arsenal have had zero resouces the last 8 years while we built a 400 million pound stadium. In that time we’ve spent less (net) than every other Premiership team, including those that have been relegated. What we have done is remarkable, and in the age of sugar daddy clubs too.

Now that we have more money to spend everyone will see a massive difference. Ironic that it’s coming at the same time as Utd are about to drop!

          • J

            July 30, 2013 at 1:43 pm

Spent less net only because your star players have wanted to leave for more ambitious teams.

I like Arsenal – a lot more than I do City or Chelsea.
But I think they take things too far.
e.g. having a good youth policy is admirable, but it needs to be balanced with experienced players (winners).
e.g. It’s all well and good taking 8 years to pay off a stadium, but is 8 years without silverware/no money to sign top players worth it?
Maybe if you had allowed 12 years to pay off the stadium, and set aside an extra £40m per season for transfers, you would have a better buisness model.
Instead now even with the £80m warchest, top players do not want to sign for an Arsenal side who just about made it into the Champions League.

Probably the only positive arsenil will get out of the whole of the new season… how many failed signings this season so far goonys

    • panther

      July 30, 2013 at 12:56 pm

Oh and Utd have made plenty of signing haven’t they..What a tucking mug and a hypocrite you are, even Rooney wants out of Utd because he knows apart from Van Persie , your squad is full of average over hyped players, especially the likes of Welbeck, Cleverly, Jones, Evans, and Smalling.

      • J

        July 30, 2013 at 1:04 pm

The same over hyped players that won the league last season?
        – wait let me guess, we scored every goal in Fergie time, from the penalty we dived to obtain, against 10 men. That sound about right?

      July 30, 2013 at 12:51 pm

@ Gooner Mad – a reply to the latter part of your comment:

Arsenal do not have the squad nor squad depth to compete with Manchester United. The only reason Arsenal are willing to splash the cash now is because the fans are fed up of Wengers transfer approach. If you disagree, the following people will concur: Fabregas, RVP, Ashley Cole, Henry, Veira, Toure, Nasri, Song etc etc They have all left and have they won silverware elsewhere? Oh absolutely. Don’t swing your balls now that you see Arsenal have money to spend.

PS: you don’t have to be in Manchester to support Manchester United. Just like RVP proved you can live in London and support Manchester United. Hell, you can even play for Arsenal and support Manchester United.

      • panther

        July 30, 2013 at 1:02 pm

Apart from Nasri and Song, all the other players you mentioned won trophies at Arsenal. Idiots like you really need to do your research before you come on sites like this, and make a pathetic mug of yourself

        • Sachin

          July 30, 2013 at 1:17 pm

I did not say that those players did not win trophies at Arsenal. Don’t imply something and then comment on it. Idiots like you should take a lesson in reading English before you come on sites like this. You don’t have to do much “research” when determining why those players left.

No need insulting each other please. This players are living their lives and the press is writing what the fans want to see. Moyes should go for realistic target like Modric. Fabregas love Barcelona too much to leave after just two seasons
These coaches like Wenger and Moyes play with fans emotions by not signing realistic targets

i thought arsenal were signing rooney and higuain…at least they havnt been public about wanting them..oh wait, they have, and neither were interested in arsenal…maybe they have trophy aspirations..

    • patlow71

      July 30, 2013 at 12:43 pm

Get your facts right Wenger never publicly declared he had made an offer for either of them, not like drooling Moyes….out of depth already me thinks

      • Sachin

        July 30, 2013 at 1:30 pm

But Higuan’s father had admitted he was negotiating with Arsenal at an advanced stage. Just accept the fact that Higuan chose Napoli over ARSEnal. Moyes out of depth? thankfully its just your thought!

        • patlow71

          July 30, 2013 at 6:57 pm

What has Higuains father go to do with Arsenal numbnuts, you obviously understand nothing about how agents spin stories to push up prices. Jesus have you got a single brain cell??

    • panther

      July 30, 2013 at 1:14 pm

Unless you hear Wenger say it, its a media propaganda story. I never heard Wenger say it “I am bidding for Rooney” Just for the record idiot, Higuan didn’t reject Arsenal, Wenger/Arsenal decided not to up their bid, which I dis-agreed with. You need to stop listening to the media because he after all, muppets like you actually believed Fabregas was talking to Man U, due to the lying media/journalists .

    July 30, 2013 at 12:40 pm

You really think we are contacting them every day, jsut pure rubbish by the Spanish press. Barca are the tap up mob, no-one else. If we make bids for him then we do but we are certainly not phoning him up every single day.

  7. Aj

    July 30, 2013 at 12:42 pm

We do not want Bale either, jsut spanish bs.

Ther is nothign to worry about at Manchester United, we are a gerat future ahead…..a world class team with world class youth….we add to it we do, we dont we dont but we will still be challenging for Trophies, that you can gurantee.

The Question is what holds for Arsenal’s future? Who has you signed?
