TEAM – Arsenal vs Vietnam: Wenger Names Strong XI

By on July 17, 2013

Arsenal play their second pre-season game of this summers tour of the Far East as we take on Vietnam on Wednesday afternoon.

We kicked off our pre-season with a comfortable 7-0 win over an Indonesian All Star XI on Sunday so hopefully today’s game will be a slightly sterner test for the players.

Arsene Wenger has named a much stronger starting eleven for today’s clash with Gnarby the only player starting who’s not considered a first team squad regular. The likes of Szczesny, Koscielny,Rosicky, Giroud and Podolski all come in while Sagna also starts at centre-back.

Here’s the team:

Arsenal

Szczesny, Jenkinson, Sagna, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gnabry, Giroud, Podolski

Subs: Fabianski, Martinez, Miquel, Mertesacker, Aneke, Ramsey, Walcott, Akpom, Wilshere, Zelalem, Ryo, Eisfeld, Olsson

We are up by one goal just under 5.46 minutes through Giroud from a clever Rosicky pass; still watching.

Sagna at center of defence? Yes, maybe we wont’t sign a defender. A good win and subsequent early wins in PL will create fear factor for other teams.

THE Squad for me is quite a strong one for the opposition but cannot be competitive in the premier leaque
