Report: Cazorla Agrees Terms With Atletico Madrid, Clubs Negotiating A Fee

By on July 17, 2013

According to reports in Spain this morning, Santi Cazorla has agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid and we’re negotiating a fee with the La Liga outfit.

The ‘news’ was first announced on Spanish radio stations Radio Marca and Onda Cer before appearing on the Marca website in the early hours of this morning. It’s claimed that Atletico have already agreed personal terms with Cazorla (before agreeing a fee with Arsenal) and the clubs chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin is already in London negotiating a deal with Arsenal.

It’s truly a bizarre report that not only suggests that Cazorla want’s out of the Emirates, but that we’re willing to negotiate his sale. Silly season has well and truly begun folks!

I think it’s safe to say there is little truth behind this report. Santi only arrived from Villarreal last summer and has enjoyed a superb debut season in England. He’s not once intimated that he’s unhappy here or was looking for a return to Spain for any reason, so unless things have changed drastically over the last few weeks, I don’t think we’ve got anything to worry about.

Perhaps Real Madrid are trying to unsettle us by using their unofficial mouthpiece (Marca) to print ridiculous transfer rumours about Arsenal players in order to get back at us for going cold on the Gonzalo Higuain deal. You wouldn’t put it past them.

If you know you don’t have anything to write you better go and sleep rather than tryinng to give fake news.

why would an arsenal blog perpetuate these lies? atletico couldn’t afford a season ticket to the emirates, nevermind our star player.

    Hi,

I’m a long time and patient fan to Le Professeur and Arsenal from Vietnam. I would personally expect the stadium will boo the two in a big, big way in the mat h today if this ever has some real grounds! And real fans wont need explanation for their e eranger if that does indeed happen!

I don’t think you can even read properly, you dickhead. It says Atletico have agreed terms with the player and just need to talk to Arsenal.

Since they haven’t been given permission, that’s called tapping up.

This story is bollocks, Marca is the Spanish equivalent of the Star or the Mirror. Move along now, there is nothing to see here.

I’d have said Marca is the Spanish Daily Mail but I’m guessing we mean the same thing!

Atletico just sold Falcao for 60+ million. So they can afford to buy him.
The only reason i can see Arsenal selling is to make place for Fabregas!

We all love Cesc and he is a great player. But his body will not stand up to EPL. This has been proved before.

This is meant to be an Arsenal blog right? Cazorla is not in negioations with anyone undertsand? If he was the story might have been told somewhere other than this joke of a site. I actually used to take some notice of this site and now you’ve made sure I never read the rubbish you spew out ever again and I deplore anyone reading this to do the same. Its the only these anti arsenal douche bags will undertsand that constantly writng this rubbish to get hits makes them look even worse then caughtoffside. You do understand how transfers work right? Anyone from this site care to reply? Of course not because you know its BS but you choose you write it anyway. You reallly need to get a real job and a life if you think this is sports journalism.

You’ve forgotten ur useless, selfish, self centre, french racist/tribalistic coach who is planning on reaping the money from any signing we make.

Firstly Cazorla came from Malaga and secondly Marca is the equivalent of The Sun. I think that says it all.

I totally agree with u Yakubu. Like u said so it started last season with song, b4 we got to know it was a done deal…. For arsenal it easy to sell but difficult to buy. I hate the chairman and his board 4 being this slow in the transfer market. How many weeks have gone ?and yet no new signing. I once said the Huguian’s deal was never happening and is never going to happen, and now where are we. Anyway I hope this is not a true story duo. Arsenal 4 Life.

u know in this world everything is possible. i have support the gunners for 16 years but i came to know one thing, its a business. where there is a profit to be made arsenal will sell no matter what. at emirates it is not about glory. and mind you from confederation where cazorla barely played he was given a break. AW is testing the so called new blood. i agree with yakubu

Why is everyone giving this website s**t when its Marca writing the story and this place telling us so they didn’t write this bs

    • Millz

      July 17, 2013 at 11:07 am

Because they don’t have to recycle the obvious bulls**t that Marca prints. They do so to get hits so they deserve everything they get.

    • Millz

      July 17, 2013 at 11:08 am

Also, the fact they believe he joined us from Villareal suggests they are either stupid or lazy, but probably both!

Which English paper are the first to report this “EXCLUSIVE”? The Daily Mail of course! At least The Mirror have the headline that we’re rubbishing these claims, the daily mail are suggesting the deal is pretty much done!

Arsenal can sell any players @ any time, but 2 buy is problem. Everything is possible Y buying is only difficult.

    July 17, 2013 at 12:52 pm

I think you will find the clubs are not negotiating a fee – Athletico will be having a one sided conversation. If the reports are true then finally Arsenal do not have to sell to balance the books.

    July 17, 2013 at 12:54 pm

Can I just check, is the same Marca reporting this as the one who said Arsenal had agreed terms with Higuain – BEFORE Real gave him permission to speak with anyone?

Mad report just posted to destabilise. Athletico, Arsenal and Cazorla have poo pood this. This sad senstionalism eclipses the real news and cheapens journalism.
